Learning is something to be enjoyed, not endured. By getting hands-on from the start, Workshop lets you skip the lectures and do more of what you love.

Really great work. Love the mentality of ongoing learning and with that Wunderding ui it’s really easy to go deeper into different topics. Anyway, I’d love to see a „local component“ build in, so that you might end up learning together at a Patisserie how to make cake decorating. Are you guys planing to bring online and offline experience one day together? Sidenote: Airbnb is rolling out those kind of activities in more and more countries.

@anderiep Thanks so much Paul! That's a really interesting idea... a similar concept we've chatted about is the idea of "Workshop Kiosks" where you'd be provided with everything you need to learn from your digital teachers at select locations – for now though we're focused on delivering the best possible "at-home" experiences 👍

I didn't sign up for an account as I don't care much about cooking, but I will definitely re-install the app once more diverse content is added. I'm trying to become better at drawing in particular, and I feel like these types of visual arts would do well on the platform. In the mean time, I'll recommend it to my foodie friends. Great job! p.s. it was awesome to see the guys from Sorted Food in there!

Pros:

The app is very well designed, and easy to navigate.

Cons:

100% cooking/baking workshops at the moment.

Great idea, and I'm eager to see where it goes in terms of learning categories. Recommendation 'How to Paint a Basquiat'.
Jay Rowley
@ramy_alkadhi Creative subjects definitely lend themselves to learning by doing, so a 'How to Paint' in an artist's style is a great suggestion. We're hands-on skill-focused at the moment, but generally passionate about helping teachers pass on their knowledge with the best methods tech can provide!

Hey PH, Dan from Workshop here. Workshop is an iOS and Android app where you can learn new skills by getting hands-on from the start. With Workshop, you skip the lectures so that you can do more of what you love! The world of Education is being disrupted left, right and centre by technology, and we’re committed to using research backed methodologies in our approach to improving the way people learn. We’ve just introduced free sessions which allow you to learn in a step-by-step, deconstructed format, free of charge. We’re also working on some professional courses and are soon to be branching outside of teaching just cooking skills. We’re available world wide, and if you’re a Great British Bake-Off fan (The Great British Baking Show for our friends in America), you’ll see we’ve got some veterans of the show teaching you in the app. Find out more in our recent feature with Apple - https://itunes.apple.com/gb/stor... Hope you enjoy the app and we’d love to get some feedback from you!

I've had the opportunity to try the bread making workshop. I am not the kitchen freak type but thanks to this app I learned a lot of things behind the chemistry of cooking. It was a really good experience. One of the best things of this app is the methodology behing the learning process. It really helps to have a challenge section where you can upload your progress, I don't know the reason but it helps you gasp the things you have learned.

Pros:

The app is super easy to use. The price of the workshops is reasonable. The methodology is top notch!

Cons:

Eager for more not kitchen related workshops :)

I had the pleasure of working alongside Workshop creating these super in depth cooking courses. It was interesting to see how we could adapt a normal cooking lesson into a fun way to learn on your phone, really happy to see them come this far! Go on guys!

I got the cake decorating workshop by Benjamina. After seeing her on GBBO, it is undeniable that she is a pro baker and having such a big name teaching me definitely encouraged me to get the workshop.

I really used to struggle with piping and every cake I made tasted DELISH (if I do say so myself) but looked AWFUL! Benjamina gives simple tips and tricks to make every cake I make look stunning with ease.

The workshops are super easy to follow and fit around my current lifestyle, whenever I have some free time I can just grab my phone and learn something new - it's the perfect mix of productive and lazy, haha!

I will def be purchasing more workshops soon, thanks guys!!

Pros:

SO easy to use and navigate, I found what I wanted to really easily and my skills have improved in both Bread and Cake Decorating lessons!

Cons:

I can't wait for the brand to develop further and have even more workshops on offer maybe even in a variety of areas away from cooking!

It used to be just my milkshake that brought the boys to the yard, but now it's my cakes, pasta and particularly the hollandaise sauce! Yum yum

Pros:

Expert tips

Cons:

cant think of any

Worked with these guys to create the pilot workshop and they’ve developed the format so much since then. Learning by doing is the way forward!

I used the Macaron workshop and yielded amazing results, I'm looking forward to get started with the pasta and bread workshops next! Really thorough instruction in a way that actually helps you refine and retain the skills.

Pros:

Clear valuable learning, seamless app, well designed

Cons:

None

Considering Bake Off has just kicked off again on Channel 4, are you guys leveraging that at all in order to generate an increase in leads and sign ups? Lots of people must watch the show and think "oh I wish I could learn how to make that".
Jay Rowley
@productpearson It definitely forms a big part of our marketing strategy at the moment. We were featured on the front page of the App Store on Tuesday with an article about Benjamina Ebuehi's Cake Decorating workshop, which has been huge for us. Got lots of planning for social in the mix. Great comment, cheers Ash 👍

@jayrowley Nice. We're a big fan of the bake off. Here's me with a few of the people from previous series:

The cake thumbnail got me. Clever.
