Got this for my 90 year old grandfather for Christmas after seeing good reviews on Amazon.
He can barely speak English, doesn't even really get how to use his iOS device, but he's really enthused by the fact that he can see his heart rate and step count at any time.
Since he's really not tech savvy, this band was the perfect choice as the battery seems to last forever. I gave it to him fully charged on Christmas Eve and yesterday (January 1st), the battery was showing 93% and he's been wearing it 24/7.
Seriously great, affordable fitness band.
Used the first Mi Fit, now using this one: super-affordable, Android app now works ± fine.
If your tracking doesn't need to be very social (Xiaomi approach to it is, let's say, non-conventional) this is a good choice.
Replaced my Jawbobe UP3 for the Mi Band 2, didn't like it at all, doesn't read heart rate while sleeping, no automatic exercise tracking, sometimes it doesn't sync and more issues
@giodelgado I combined it with the sleep as Android app. Works great. Constantly measures my heart rate whilst sleeping and discovered I had a very low pulse at night so I am thankful for that. The alarm vibrates before my phone starts ringing so not to wake partner up. In addition, the sleep as android app features snoring detection and then vibrates my Mi Band 2 so I can reposition. This device gives the Jawbone a run for it's money. Best tracker I have ever had! (The Mi Band 3 has a slightly better battery life so select that one instead)
Value for money- that's what this band is. Integrates with Healthify me and Health app, so everything is tracked very well. Heart rate is skewed a bit, so is calories burnt (which is good for people who are looking to reduce a few pounds)
I have bought few mi band 1, to friends colleagues family... all love the band and was $10. Now for $30 you get oled screen with notifications, heart ratio etc... I've had now mi band 2 since july, great purchase!
Highly recommend this product! Had this for a couple of months now and amazed by 1) price, the value is easy 3x higher than the price 2) updates, just a week ago my mi-band updated and now I also receive caller id and some custom icons for apps (gmail specifically). 3) did I say price! for 20$ I am not worried if anything happened to it I wear it while I do everything from sports to carpentry 4) BATTERY LIFE, this should be number 1. I am waiting for a nice smart watch with decent battery life and feature set, the mi band doesn't scale on the high end / nice part ... but definitely is on the high score for battery. Still I would like to charge my watch less than once every week or so, Maybe someone will come up with a self winding smart watch :P
@pykler Price is now even lower as the Mi Band 3 has been introduced some time ago. I would recommend going for the Mi Band 3 instead. Same great product, better battery life and waterproof (for use in the pool)
If you think about getting one, get the Mi Band 3 for just a little more as it is waterproof and has an even better battery life. Can't go wrong with the Mi Band 2 though, one of the many great products by Xiaomi.
Pros:
attractive price, long battery life, syncs with Google Fit.
