@orarbel I'm curious what you've learned since launching Yo for the Apple Watch. Do you expect it to be a meaningful platform for Yo or is it too early to say?
@rrhoover Yo has 2 characteristics that makes it a perfect fit for the Watch: 1) Simple minimalist interface. 2) Interactive notifications.
Notifications themselves are becoming the interface, on phones - by swiping the notification and discovering 2 buttons, but even more so on the Watch where the notification allows you to act on it.
What if each notification that you got on the Watch allowed actions that are different and based on the context of the notification? What if the notification was the smallest form of a new generation of apps?
If the definition of app is "a self-contained program or piece of software designed to fulfill a particular purpose;”, what if each notification you get from Yo fulfills this definition?
This is our biggest update yet. Yo 2.0 introduces a slick and powerful platform whilst staying true to our minimalist roots. The new UI allows us to expand the things (or "contexts" as we call them) that you will be able to send in one tap to your closest friends, and now to groups as well. At this point we kept it simple with only 3 options but the possibilities are endless. Looking forward to your feedback product hunters
@eriktorenberg we had more "contexts" to share when swiping left or right: your next calendar item, your weather, your clipboard. we decided it's important to keep it simple when releasing a new interface, to not overwhelm our users with too many things to swipe through. ship with the most common used "contexts", get feedback, and expand if makes sense.
I like the photos. Stepping on Snapchat's turf (if it were more widely adopted) and Group Yo's aren't a bad idea either. Personally, I thought we had seen the passing of Yo.
i like that the map is much more accessible in this version. i've been using yo since it launched. haven't really used subscriptions much, but the new app does a fantastic job of guiding you to more use cases. +1 crew.
