👋 Hi Product Hunt,
Thanks so much Chris! It’s great to be back after our public beta launch of You.com.
We’re excited to share our newest product called **YouWrite**, an AI-powered writing assistant available right on your search results page. Search less. Write more.
With YouWrite, put an end to your writer’s block and instantly generate copy for your next email, blog, or social media post. You can also tailor your message for the target audience and its tone, from witty to persuasive.
Here’s how YouWrite works:
🔍 Go to http://You.com and search “YouWrite” or go directly to You.com/write
✏️ Select a use case in the dropdown menu. The default is a paragraph, but you can choose from email, social media post, title, blog, or essay. The latter two produce longer results.
🎯 Fill in the “Audience/Receiver” (i.e. CEOs, co-workers, teachers, developers, scientists, foodies, etc.) This is optional.
🎭 Choose a preset tone like neutral, friendly, professional, witty, or persuasive (also optional)
💬 Briefly explain in the text box what you want the AI to write about. You can input a single word, phrase, sentence, or paragraph. eg "explain why dogs are awesome"
🤯 Hit “write” and watch the YouWrite AI generate the copy in seconds!
🆕 Once the copy is generated, you can hit “write new” to see similar but differently worded text samples.
🖨️ Easily copy the content to use it in a blog, essay, email, social media, etc.
🐥 Click “shareable link” to generate a link to post on social media.
It would look like this: https://you.com/search?q=how+to+...
We’re offering ten free tries of YouWrite right now with no sign-up or credit card required and one month of free generations when you sign up for You.com, with still no credit card required.
Let us know what you think about YouWrite and a search engine that helps you get stuff done — Search less. Do more.
I’m here to answer your questions.
Many wishes,
Richard + the You.com team
@richardsocher Sounds pretty cool. Congratz on the launch! Tried one AI writing software just last week. Worked pretty good (Jenni.ai). I'll give You a try as well.
I was a bit surprised to see how this worked, but it works really, really well. I like the search engine too.
Good promise and hopefully it can stay an open tool!
@dylan_steck 🙌 - Thank you so much. This is how we are building the search engine of the future - with time-saving apps that are helpful and easy to use.
This look very interesting and helpful! I struggle with writer's block from time to time, this might jut be the solutions for that. Congrats on the launch! 🥳
@basharath 🙌 Thank you so much! Making life easier for everyone is what we aim to do with you.com - all of our product features are built with users in mind with a goal of saving them time, give them a choice in selecting their sources and having control over their privacy.
Fantastic product Richard! Congratulations. The results are consistently useful and I love the variety you get on Write Again. Will you publish an API once the product goes commercial? Also, will there be enterprise pricing for large numbers of users?
I played around with YouWrite and it was pretty impressive. Although I doubt YouWrite expects it to be used this way, but I was using YouWrite was to summarize news articles quickly for me for a couple of reasons.
1) I didn't want to read the whole article and
2) Sometimes, the rewritten version of YouWrite seems to provide a better explanation or better reading than the original while maintaining the essence of the article.
Would love it if allowable word count is increased greater than 1k, then I can get larger articles through YouWrite.
I'm thrilled and very impressed with the design and performance of both You.com and YouWrite AI writing assistant. YouWrite seems to know the answer to every question asked and more so, provides concise and clever answers to these questions posed. It helps in providing clear answers to questions without the need for a Google search.
However, I was made to understand that YouWrite lacks knowledge of present issues, especially current affairs.
Also, I would like to know if there is a limit in the number of words that YouWrite can write on any given question or query imputed into it. Does the paid version any different from the free version? Does the paid version allow the AI to write longer essays or blogs than the free version?
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
@chadi 🙌 - thank you so much. Which use. audience you've tried? There is also a sharable link you can click and share the entire input/output with your friends
