π°οΈ Story behind Glasp
10 years ago, I was diagnosed with a subdural hematoma that suddenly paralyzed the left side of my body, and my doctor told me that I could go into cardiopulmonary arrest at any moment. I managed to survive through emergency surgery, but when I was confronted with the reality that I might disappear from this world, I remember feeling an inexpressible sense of fear and frustration welling up from the bottom of my body.
At the same time, I was struck by the desire to prove that I existed in this world and that my life had meaning, and the urge to leave something useful behind for the world while I was still alive to feel a sense of contribution to humanity.
πWhat is Glasp?
Glasp is a social web highlighter that people can use to highlight and organize quotes and thoughts from the web without having to switch back and forth between screens, and access other like-minded peopleβs learning at the same time.
Our mission is to democratize access to other peopleβs learning and experiences that they have collected throughout their lives as a utilitarian legacy. As Glasp stands for "Greatest Legacy Accumulated as Shared Proof", we want to visualize your contribution to human knowledge history.

I have been a user of Glasp for a while, and it is a wonderful and esthetically beautiful way to store and share articles I read and my highlights. The developers have done a beautiful job and go about improvements in a thoughtful way. When I encountered an issue as a beta-tester and reported this through the Slack channel, they responded within minutes. Of all the highlight services I tried, including Liner and Hypothes.is, I like Glasp the best.
I also like that copying and pasting my highlights into my local documents is easy and renders beautiful.
The developers also did a zoom session so we could ask questions directly, which I very much appreciated. They take care of the relationship with their users.
Today's Youtube Transcription and Highlight Functionality is excellent and one I will use. My first impression is that the way they present the transcription is better than other transcription implementations, and of course, the highlighting functionality is excellent.
By joining the Glasp platform, I feel I am part of a movement to share what I learn on the internet with others. I appreciate the personal story of @kazuki_nakayasiki's close encounter with death, which inspired him to create this platform. Thank you, @kazuki_nakayasiki, for your mission-driven Glasp Platform. Thank you for today's new feature; I look forward to more in the future.

Just discovered Glasp yesterday from youtube. I have been looking for something like that for a while. I have been stuck with Weava for years. The youtube highlighter feature is super useful. and the fact that it plays nicely with Notion is a huge plus.
Is there a possibility you are going to add photo comments in the future? It would be useful to attach screenshots from the video to the comments I take and export to Notion for example.
