Does this mean I can finally get @HootSuite reports in #marketing? @zapier @robgolding63 @reganstarr @joestych @chrisgeoghegan @maguay

Hey Product Hunt! Today we officially launched our new app and Chrome extension: Push by Zapier. Generally, Zapier automates your apps in the background, and you don't need to think about it. But sometimes, you just want to press a button and watch your workflow run. That's what Push is all about. It connects to 500+ apps, and lets you automate custom, one-click processes from anywhere on the web. You can set up two kinds of pushes: either with, or without text. And, just like Zapier, there's no code required. A few examples of what our beta testers set up with Push: - Quickly add events to your calendar - Set a timer, and get a notification anywhere when it expires - Push a button to pull reports or statistics - Fetch contact details from your CRM - Log to-dos or save links for later You can see some use cases, and read more about getting started, here: https://zapier.com/blog/push-by-...

@maguay please consider Safari as well. we all love to move away from slow battery hungry Chrome

@maguay @hadifarnoud How about Firefox? I have been using for years and have no complaints.

To me, what's $20 if you can really save time using it? I've paid $10 to buffer for 2 years and gotten way more out of it in time savings. People need to realize the fact that not everything can be free in the SaaS world. Half of you this site are developing products that you hope to charge for and start a company with The Ramen Noodle poor startup I want everything for free is really getting to me on this site. If its not frr everybody starts whining like a little bitch.

Single-purpose workflows! This is pretty awesome. We're gonna try it out on our own zaps :) Congrats! @maguay

Big fan of Zapier, basically used Motion AI and Zapier to build a personal assistant. Gonna have some fun experimenting with this.

This is the first iteration of something awesome. I've already talked to @maguay about this, but I used to do this with JS inside a bookmark link. It goes something like that https://www.opentest.co/share/b1... (start at 0:09). Would love to see that coming to Zapier Push.
So great. Have been using it for. A while I use to just use a typeform or a google sheet update or another way to force a zap to run. But now it's easier

Great add for Zapier! Can see much potential for the future! Here are some suggestions: http://reviewmonster.org/push_by...

Is it possible to add Push to an existing Zap?
Chris Geoghegan
Hey @jabrueckner, yep that should be possible. Push by Zapier provides two new triggers that you can use with your Zap. Push (just the button) and Push with Text (add some data to your push). If you have an existing Zap you can change the trigger to use one of these. Feel free to reach out contact@zapier.com if you have any trouble setting it up. EDIT: Just to clarify, this actually depends on what your trigger is. For example, if your current trigger is grabbing data from somewhere, you may also need to add a search step to make this work. For example a common use case might be: 1. Receive a push from Zapier with someone's email 2. Search a CRM using that email 3. Return the results to a slack message

@chrisgeoghegan @zapier Thanks for the quick response! So, I want to use Push to manually kick off a Zap flow. Do I have to recreate the Zap with Push as the trigger, or is there a way I can use Push without starting over?
Chris Geoghegan
Hey @jabrueckner would you be able to shoot us an email at contact@zapier.com with a link to the Zap you're wondering about. That way we can take a look and provide you with more specific advice. Thanks!

@jabrueckner id love this feature too, instead of waiting, I'd want to be able to "push" the extension to "run" particular zaps. Is this possible? I currently have to constantly load the dashboard. 😖

Have only discovered this recently and LOVE it. I'm using it to feed websites into Buffer with a custom comment. It also records everything I share in a Google Spreadsheet on the way through

Awesome extension @maguay and team! I'm already finding it useful. There's a daily task I do to manually log some metrics from a browser tab, and now I have the push action to send a message in slack and also log to a google sheet. Sometimes, the 1st "automatic" trigger is the missing part of the puzzle, so it is nice to create workflows from a manual trigger (pushing the button). I suspect that after I use this for a while, I'll be able to improve the trigger with an automated step after giving it some more thought. Nice work :).

This is one of the most useful products I've ever used for automation. I use it specifically to automate a lot of our sales processes and sales funnel.

Pros:

Zapier helps you automate a ton of your technology products that makes your business more efficient.

Cons:

Sometimes it takes a bit doing complex Zaps, but much easier than paying a developer to hard code it.

You need to release cheaper Personal plans. I can't take Zapier seriously until you sort it out.
Ben Ho
@ausonio I'd be worried if Zapier didn't charge adequately to keep the lights on and their staff fed. If you really like Zapier, show some support! :)
Joshua Brueckner
@ausonio Zapier is WAYYYYYY valuable for the small price. Maybe you need more Zaps – it does so much!
Mark Spivey
@benhomie I don't have a problem with the price they charge for their Basic plan, but I simply have no need for 3000 zaps per month. I'm not rich enough to go around wasting money simply because I like their service. Why is there no range between their 100 zap free plan and the 3000 basic one?
Garett Dunn
@ausonio @benhomie They definitely seem to be focusing on business use as opposed to hobbyists or other use cases. I know I couldn't justify $20/month if it wasn't for something I was making money on.
Some Guy
@ausonio @benhomie That's a common business tactic called "anchoring", AKA make the basic tier a bare minimum, so upgrading to the next tier feels like a no brainer, even if it has more than you need.

I love using Zapier!!

Ooh, More like IFTTT for Chrome. I like it. Time to test it out.
