Cilantro, the Toronto Maple Leafs, and story point Estimation. There are few things in this world that have the ability to provoke such a strong and definitive response from even the most pacifist of people. While I’m not here to talk herbs or hockey (although for the record I love cilantro and hate the Leafs), I am here to talk story point estimation. Estimation, when used correctly, can be a powerful tool for planning, tracking, and improving. The challenges that many teams face is around the process of assigning story points - refinement meetings can be disruptive, unproductive, and difficult for remote teams. We created planning poker in ZenHub to solve exactly these problems. Planning poker focuses your team’s time on the important issues, reduces context switching, and allows your team to stay in GitHub. It’s optimized for distributed teams and provides an effortless way for everyone to contribute. Since we started using the feature ourselves, combined with the time-savings of ZenHub’s Automated Sprints, we’ve been able to reduce our refinement meetings time from 1.5h to 10 minutes! We know that you’ll benefit just as much as we did, so we are thrilled to be sharing planning poker in ZenHub with the world. Cheers, Laura Product Manager at ZenHub

This is very well designed. It should make planning poker much easier for remote workers. I am also very excited to see if it would allow making a part of the planning process asynchronous. Great job!
