Nice! We at Jovo have been using the Zenkit web app for a long time and love especially the kanban + swimlanes feature + calendar. We've been waiting for a mobile app! Is it possible to add new stuff when I have bad mobile internet/am offline? Congrats on the launch πŸš€
Siobhan O'Rorke
@einkoenig Yes! The app works offline 😊It'll sync up again once you're reconnected. Kanban and swimlanes are coming soon to iOS, too!
Jan KΓΆnig
@siororke Cool! I usually tale screenshots and attach them to tasks. Is it also possible to post photos while offline? That would be great
Siobhan O'Rorke
@einkoenig You can attach images to items from your camera or from your photos. If you add a new item and attach an image directly, it'll work just fine offline :)
Siobhan O'Rorke
@einkoenig Awesome. Thanks for your support, Jan!

Exciting to see Zenkit for mobile! The seamless switch between calendar and board mode makes for a powerful project management use case. Is an Android App in the works? Anything you can tell us about the release date?
Siobhan O'Rorke
@emilkabisch Hi Emil, thank you! Yes, Android is in the works. We expect it to be available in a few months - toward the end of this year, or the beginning of next. We're looking for beta testers though! If you're interested, send an email to hello@zenkit.com and we'll get you sorted. πŸ‘Œ

@andrew_bergson Would you like to test with us? Shoot us an email. hello@zenkit.com

Is the mobile app compatible with iOS 11?
Siobhan O'Rorke
@emilkabisch Yep! It should work just fine :)

I like the way Zenkit is thinking beyond static one view only representation and interaction with content. They figured out a neat way to combine the advantages of spreadsheets, mindmaps, lists, and Kanban into one single tool. The flexibility to jump between these representations of your content, based on your needs, is the ultimate adavantage of Zenkit. Looking forward for see this capability on mobile too – probably on their roadmap.

Pros:

A good to go overview of your content on Zenkit.

Cons:

Missing the multiple views on mobile. Probably on their roadmap.

Preetish
Great to see the mobile app. I had a chance to try out Zenkit when the web version was launched -- really loved its flexibility and customization options. One question (well, two actually): What's the tech stack of your mobile app? Are you using any framework like react native that would allow you to easily port the app to Android as well?
Siobhan O'Rorke
@pr33tish Awesome, thanks so much for being with us since the beginning, Preetish! You can check out our stack over at Siftery: https://siftery.com/company/zenkit Our client interface is mostly built on Angular 1. We're working hard on speeding the client up which also includes evaluating other frameworks like React, Vue and Angular 2.
Siobhan O'Rorke
@pr33tish Oops! Just realized I sent the wrong tech stack. I'm not entirely sure what the iOS app is built on. Swift definitely. We're working on the Android app totally separately.

This is cool. Going to give it a try. πŸ˜€
Siobhan O'Rorke
@joshvoydik Awesome. Enjoy! And feel free to get in touch if you need anything 😊
Nick Abouzeid
Very cool!
Siobhan O'Rorke
@nickabouzeid thanks Nick! πŸ˜‰

Hey @martinwelker I've used the web app and really like it. Are you going to be adding the other views to the app as well? Like calendar or Kanban? I really rely on them for my work and it would be great to see them in the app. Thanks! Keep up the great work πŸ‘πŸ»
Martin Welker
@techno Great question, Thomas! Other views are on the roadmap for the coming months, and Kanban is already in development. For now, you can integrate Zenkit with Google Calendar and sync it with your Apple Calendar - it works pretty seamlessly!
Thomas Arend
@martinwelker very cool. Are you planning to release desktop apps as well? That would be awesome. πŸ‘πŸ»
Martin Welker
@techno Yes, desktop apps are on the roadmap, but likely not until next year. We're exploring options for a progressive web app.

(Tested on iPad) Clean interface, the important features of Zenkit cards and boards are here. OK there are no Kanban, Calendar or Mindmap views in this version, but to quickly check a project, update or add cards, it is fast and easy.

Pros:

Simple interface, does not try to mimick the web version but provides good on-the-go access to your info

Cons:

iPad Landscape mode ? could make a better use of the available screeen space

Radek Zaleski
Very good app, use it daily
Siobhan O'Rorke
@radekzaleski thanks Radek! 😎
Radek Zaleski

love this product, use it daily, founders are cool

Pros:

helps a lot in defining strategies in my company

Cons:

sharing is broken if you have lots of google accounts

Damien Zoetelief
Great tool! Happy to hear that zenkit is now on mobile. I have two questions regarding future developments : - I heard about the synchronization with Google calendar, which is also great news. When will the app be synchronized with outlook? - what is the confidentiality about the elements we are writing on our collections? I'm using the tool within my company but I'm not sure to be able to promote the tool around me if it is not totally secure. Thanks a lot Damien
Siobhan O'Rorke
@dzoetelief Thank you!! - Outlook and Apple Calendars are both on the roadmap so we're hoping to get them done soon. In the meantime a good workaround is to integrate your Google Calendar with your Outlook calendar. There are a few services that do this for free :) - For performance reasons, data is not encrypted but secured by our authorization system, so only collection and team members can see the data. Further security precautions such as 2FA are on our roadmap, too.

Thanks @_jacksmith for hunting us! We’re so happy to have @bryanclark from The Next Web review our iOS app: https://thenextweb.com/apps/2017... Of course, mobile support is a big step towards improving the overall experience for our users (and therefore, Android will be coming soon too). The main focus of version 1.0 was to offer the features most requested by our users. So we concentrated on the ability to browse your content offline, adding and changing items, and push notifications. We made the decision to not support "structural changes" in the first version e.g. adding or changing teams, collections, and fields. There are features in the web app that are not yet included in the iOS app, but we will provide more and more features down the road, without compromising the simplicity of the app. We’re here to answer your questions about our iOS app, Zenkit, productivity and project management. So, fire away! We appreciate all of your support. Thanks! Martin CEO & Founder of Zenkit martin@zenkit.com

@martinwelker The grouping option for labels is very smart, to have a section for cards that don't have the label. Very helpful.
Siobhan O'Rorke
Thanks @galtenberg! Soon we'll update the grouping option to display as Kanban, where you'll be able to see the ungrouped items, too. πŸ™‚
Viktor
Love the custom fields feature and the flexibility that comes with it. Also the bulk edit feature is awesome.
Siobhan O'Rorke
@v_braun Thanks so much Viktor! We're hoping to get bulk edits into the app at some point too :)
Marina Sheremet
Finally for iOS! Is it integrated with JIRA?
Siobhan O'Rorke
@marisheshke Hi Marina, no we don't have a JIRA integration yet, although you can create one via our Zapier integration.
Magdalena HΓ€fner

Don't need anything i think.

Pros:

I can add items offline!

Cons:

It could be nice to be able to create new collections from the app too.

Siobhan O'Rorke
Thanks Magdalena! Creating new collections from the app is coming soon!
Rostane Gribi

It really makes you life Zen !!

Cons:

Better understand Kanban... but easy !

Patrick SchΓΌller

My team and I have been using Zenkit primarily for day-to-day, collaborative project management and delegation. Looking forward to also using it, when IΒ΄m on the go. So happy, that the app is finally out.

Pros:

Great tool, great app!! Have been using Zenkit for a while. Now itΒ΄s even available on the go! Amazing!

No better alternatives yet!

Siobhan O'Rorke
Thanks Patrick! Glad to hear you guys are enjoying it :)
Nourhan Ahmed

Pros:

very user friendly application ,well organized , fast and can work offline

Cons:

nothing really important to mention , but i hope that the mobile app can add new teams and collections soon like the web app

Siobhan O'Rorke
Hi Nourhan, Thank you!! Adding teams and collections is coming soon πŸ™‚
Titus Roemer

I've been using the web app for almost a year. Imported every one of boards from Trello to Zenkit - I don't regret anything πŸ˜‰

Pros:

Really nice design, task list like Wunderlist with DnD, I can edit every data field I created in web app.

Cons:

Kanban missing, Mind Map missing! Really need this also on mobile...

Siobhan O'Rorke
Awesome, thank you so much Titus! We're planning to release the other views for mobile asap. Kanban is already in the works.
