Thanks for your kind words! We're thrilled you're excited about ZuZu. For our soundscapes, we conducted extensive research to understand which sounds effectively help children fall asleep. I heard children coloring books would also be pretty cool. I think it may be too much of an add on for the app tho. I honestly don’t know. Anyways though, Congrats on the launch!!

Isn’t screen time before bed bad for children? Can the app not be operable in audiobook immersive format instead?

@matthias_pieringer will it be correct to say that the app is focused on audiobook style rather than a one to one child visual interaction with the device. Also, in case of parent being not there the child is supposed to operate that on his/her own. Why don’t we incorporate the content onto something like an alexa device which get rid of all the device interaction needed for the child?

You're absolutely right. Our app is indeed more focused on delivering an audiobook-style experience rather than direct visual interaction with a device. This approach aligns with our goal of minimizing screen time for children, especially before bed. It's up to the parents to decide whether they want to read the stories to their children or use the app's functionality to have the story read out loud.
Additionally, we understand the importance of versatility and convenience in how our stories are accessed. That's why we've made it possible for the app's audio to be played through Bluetooth speakers or even smart home devices like Alexa. This allows for a seamless storytelling experience that doesn't require children to interact directly with a screen or device, providing a more accessible and flexible way for children to enjoy our stories, whether parents are present or not. Your insight is spot-on, and we're committed to enhancing and adapting our app to fit the needs and preferences of our users.
This sounds amazing! I'll definitely be giving this a try. I love telling my kids stories but also...at a certain point I'm just ready to not make up stories about firefighters jumping on the trampoline anymore 😂
What service did you use for the voices? I've been using Wondercraft for meditations and it's been solid so far but I'm always curious about this space.

That's fantastic to hear you're excited to give our app a try! And we totally get the part about needing a break from endless storytelling creativity—firefighters on trampolines sure sounds like a hit, though!
We used Google Text-to-Speech (TTS), but we refined our narrations by incorporating Speech Synthesis Markup Language (SSML), allowing us to adjust pitch and speed based on punctuation for more natural storytelling.
In the next version, we're taking a leap forward by introducing a unique approach by leveraging Tortoise model. This is a self-crafted voice solution where we blend two key elements: the Tortoise voice model (open source code), and real voice inputs. By meticulously working with and adjusting all possible variables (temperature, how to break/split the text to feed the model, punctuation changes, graphic card changes, etc...), we tailor the final voice to meet our specific requirements, ensuring a more authentic and engaging storytelling experience.

Great app, I've been using it a lot lately with my kids. The stories are diverse and captivating. The moral of the stories is very positive and well thought out. The only problem is that my kids no longer listen to my own stories... :)
