I liked Goodcover until I had a claim. I then learned they are the latest insurtech to slap a fancy looking UI on a broken and outsourced process. They outsource all of their claims to a company (NARS) who is not tech savvy , slow to respond, and really not delivering expected service levels from the folks at Goodcover directly. I am sad to learn that the company is great UNTIL you need them (filing a claim). In addition, the coverages that they provide for seem to be inadequate (there was an apartment fire, and I am having to fight to get movers and storage covered while the apartment is getting fixed). Additionally, claim company is not too familiar with the specific provisions and you are treated like a number. I am almost a month into my claim process and it is still unresolved. If you never plan on filing a claim (though, in reality who does?) then great company to save money and have a streamlined renters insurance experience. Otherwise, go with a company that handles their own claims or at least uses a company that matches their service level and tech approach. I am a current customer as long as it takes this claim to settle, then switching.
