For me the hugest update is being able to control browser notification.
Long term user of Google Calendar and always been a huge advocate. There are probably better calendar apps out there but the way Google auto syncs my events and flights (from emails) is something that I can't live without.
Will be great if it can have more intuitive recommendations based on past meetings/places.
If there is a Skype meeting or a Zoom call, it would be lovely to have an integration (like what they have for Hangouts) instead of having to paste the link in the description. I understand they are competition, but let's face it, many invites on Google Calendar are also for Skype and Zoom meetings, apart from others.
Every time Google updates a design it increases the size of the fonts, make bigger buttons and add more white space. Why? Not everybody wants less information in the page.
With the updated makeover, iCal is now a cousin; that is, the facelift is reminiscent of iCal's UI. That's not a bad thing! G-Cal was long overdue a makeover and it's a welcome update; hugely welcome. The Wow factor is there and, functionally, it's still one of the few, easiest, mindless, & cross-integrated productivity tools in its space. It just works!
*I've been using it longer than 1-year but the option for 1yr+ wasn't available.
