I first purchased iA Writer in 2010 (I think?) when I was working on my Masters Thesis and wanted an app with a clean focus mode to help me write and keep me engaged in the work that needed to be done. Since then, there has been continuous updates and a clear dedication to keeping the app relevant. I continue to use it as my go-to writing app for research, course prep (I’m a Professor), and random info I like to keep track of.
I absolutely love iAWriter. It is one of those software you use and love and you do know why until you use something else.
It is clear, and distraction free like very few other software.
My only criticism is the lack of a library organizer; I could go to great lengths to express how much this app could improve with a more structured / tree-styled library layout.
I would simply be able to recommend iAwriter for ALL writing purposes. Currently, it is limited to short manuscripts, such as blogs, short academic writings, and short stories (apart from the obvious note-taking).
I hope one day I will see a more featured library. That would open the door for potentially many more customers.
