Interesting, but... Not even a trial to try "reading mode"?
As someone who isn't fully satisfied with Pocket, I'm actively looking for alternatives. Turn offs here:
- The pricing (especially if you're a "light" user) - hard to justify
- No offline reading
- No full trial (or full functionality with limited capacity). Reading mode is locked.
For me (and for now), it's a pass.
I've been using Mymind for months. I like the app because:
- It's beautiful and delightful to use.
- It's simple yet quite adequate for taking notes and saving articles (though they don't offer a read mode for the free version. It's okay; I just click the links).
- I prefer the tagging system much more than the folder system; I just don't want to spend so much time and energy organizing notes.
- The Serendipity function is very helpful for people like me who hoard information.
But I still don't want to pay for the pro version because:
- Firstly, BUGS. That's the major reason. I don't know about you guys, but every time I use the iOS version, after I click "Space," my cursor goes crazy and the whole app flies with my cursor here and there. I can't stop it unless I force quit the app.
- It's too pricey. I'm already paying for quite a lot of apps, and for Mymind as a note-taking app, it costs too much. But this is a personal judgment.
- I'm not sure if once I upgrade the app, and later if I downgrade it, will I still have my notes. I watched a YouTube introduction, and it seems I won't be able to retrieve my information. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.)
Although thoughtfully and beautifully designed, I'm skeptical because there don't seem to be any import tools or integrations. As intrigued as I am, I can't see starting from scratch with mymind unless I use it for a new, very specific project, which I'm guessing wasn't the intent. There's no way I would or could leave behind years of material on other platforms. How are all the enthusiastic five-star reviewers dealing with this challenge?
Hey, guys! I have been using mymind for a few months. The AI capabilities are impressive, I love how natural it feels to search and find exactly what I need in seconds. I'm currently testing another app that aims to do something similar, but it's not there at all. There are two main reasons I haven't upgraded to the pro plan: 1) I understand and appreciate that the focus is on privacy, but I need to permanently share my Spaces, which is not possible right now; 2) The interface is only available in English (Spanish needed). Hopefully, these aspects will improve over time. I'll be waiting :)
I like MyMind's aesthetics and functionality. I enjoy using it. It's simple in a good way. I lack some features and fixes, though. And developers take a long time to update the app. Recently, they delivered an update with AI tagging improvements and fixed the dark mode input on iOS, which was super annoying for me. Everything works great, and I look forward to the news and updates. I definitely recommend it if you want a visual representation of your web.
It is impressive, but a little bit daunting as it doesn't feel like you have much control over your personal knowledge.it would be help too if there was gone kind of curation ai bot who was on hand to help guide you
