Used to use Laravel Forge. Meanwhile it was great, it for sure did not do everything I needed. Now, when we take a look at Ploi, it does 90% of what I need automatically! I haven't experienced many issues, only a few, but most of them aren't major breaking issues that I can't fix myself.
Some examples of stuff that broke for me was 1-click Matomo, so instead I manually installed it quickly. Another was setting up Laravel Octane via Swoole. Swoole doesn't auto install properly, so I have to install it myself. There were a few more, but in general, I really do appreciate the level of care and ability the devs of this really put to it. There's for sure no going back (unless Forge magically ends up supporting NodeJS projects and a few other things Ploi can do).
The only real cons I have with Ploi is the selection of servers you can make, and the way NodeJS is installed. I can't be certain how Node is installed, if it is installed automatically, because sometimes it seems like it is, sometimes it's just not there. Another is there's no way to make soley PHP/Nginx servers (so I can soley host the website on them) automatically, or soley NodeJS/Supervisor servers (or even Node/PM2 since that's what I prefer more).
All in all it's still a wonderful product.
