Nothing related to tech, these kinds of products should not be allowed by Product Hunt because it is directly linked to political issues. We are not using Product Hunt to express any type of political opinion, issue, help or whatever it is.
If you're using PH for product, why not reviewing the code, the way it's implemented, design, etc..? I see you joined PH 6 months ago while I'm around for almost 10 years, so I'm definitely aware of what's happening here, what sorts of products are hunted, reviewed, etc.. I also made my research on PH to make sure it's valid to be shown here. I don't mind about the one star review, but see @fabiosalvadori above (another 1 star review) as a reference for proper product review. Cheers
I have great respect for an experienced maker like @yoavush, and I see what moved you to do this, but I can't rate intentions here, just the product.
I fail to see how this is a product, in fact. There's no need for a widget to communicate whom we stand for, if we desired so. A simple H1 will do at a fraction of the time and without the risk that the object of support changes unilaterally and abruptly.
I'm afraid that from a strictly technical point of view I can't forget the real purpose of Product Hunt, and based on that I must rate this "app" poorly: it does not solve any problem, it is not time-efficient, it poses security and reputation risks. Maker can change the widget message at will, and tomorrow it might be one I don't stand for and yet showing up on my site. Yeah, every widget could do that, in theory, except that maker's site doesn't come with a privacy and content policy, a ToS, and worst of all with identification details.
Whatever the message was, I could never add such a widget to my sites, Yoav, Sorry.
Said this, may all the parties involved in this appalling crisis get a hint of inspiration and remember that nobody chose where we were born but we can choose how to live. Together. In peace.
Hey Fabio, I appreciate the response and acknowledge the missing parts of the app, it has flaws for sure as a product. Sometimes - the timing of the product is more important than its perfection and I took a conscious decision to release it and receive constructive (and very critical) feedback to improve it while still having it up in time. I was debating about if this should be released here or not and only decided to do so after seeing similar releases (you can look up the Ukraine one as example). Thanks for the notes and for the professionalism of this review, I receive it with great respect, I really do. Good luck with Wallafan, and happy to help with whatever you might need. Cheers
Use tech for promoting tolerance, understanding, and peace, rather than focusing on divisive agendas. Sound good mate? Now do not reply with 'why not understand tech, code n all. It's pointless, if it does not serve 'humanity' in anyway!
