I think you will have to device your own strategy. The way to do it is to observe other launches and see what they did right and how you can apply them for your launches.
At the end of the day each launch is unique and what works for one may not work for the other.
Do you prepare a strategy or create one from scratch for your Product Hunt launch?

I personally think the success can be measured by visits from the link shared on product hunt along with how much feedback do you get about your product.
It's not about getting comments from your existing users but from new users that you potentially converted out of it!

What would you consider to be authentic?
I have been following a few launches lately, I see the comments and wonder what would you consider to be authentic?
Like a ChatGPT generated comment with a really good prompt, sounds like it has human touch but it's not authentic for sure. What do you think defines authenticity?

Waitlist or no waitlist?
For many product hunt launches, I have seen people utilise waitlists while some launch right away.
What is better? With waitlist or without waitlist?
I think waitlist builds anticipation and helps you regulate the amount of people using the product but direct access lets you test the scale that your product can handle.

When do you start?
How do you strategize what is the priority in terms of building vs branding, and how to effectively do it?
I feel the most effective way is to do both simultaneously because it takes time to build as well as establish a brand. But what have you tried and how has it worked for you?

Should you fail in building a community before building a successful one?
Building a successful community is no easy task, you have to devote time, learn and understand your goals really well. But most important thing of all is to fail and learn from mistakes.
I have failed at building communities before, I learnt from them and built even better community every single time.
Build, Learn and Iterate was my motto, and finally it was fruitful when I succeeded in...

How do you define your product market fit?
I know few products define their product market fit based on traffic conversions, some based on the revenue.
What is your product and how do you define it's product market fit?

2 years at a fast paced start up is greater than 10 years at a large corporate. Agreed?
The experience you gain at a fast paced start up is far more superior than the experience you gain at corporate, sometimes it's simply exponential in nature. I have felt is myself having worked at a start up and a corporate through my career!
Have you gone through that experience as well? What are your thoughts?

Is building community sometimes harder than building the product itself?
Everyone talks about building communities around product that you have up and coming, but I think sometimes building community becomes way harder than building the product itself. Let's face it, it's hard to get early believers and adopters.
I think getting people's time is harder than investing your own time, what have you experienced?

Is community more effective than social media?
We talk about building community around products to be able to launch and have the early support. But if it came to either using time to support and build the community vs building social media traction, which is more effective in your opinion?

What makes a community successful?
Hey Everyone, I have been working to help community builders build successful communities but I wanted to know what success means to you when you build your community.
For me community has been about mainly about a few core aspects
1. Bringing people together to resonate on a common goal.
2. Making it a place where each person gets to discover and learn more.
3. Make it a place where everyone...

I think at the core it's to get people together as the part of community and letting them know what they will get by being a part of it. It may be exclusive access or benefits just for early starters, just make it clear and take feedback from time to time to add in more value for them to be a part of the community.
The "How To Launch on PH" presentation yesterday mentioned building community pre-launch...
