Hey everyone! My name is Allison. I'm a product designer by day and in my mornings, I like to build side projects. I'm super excited to launch Journaleo today - my very first PH launch.
Journaleo is a mobile app designed to be your visual diary for your goals. It all started last summer when I had 2 huge goals: clearing my skin and doing a pull-up. I used to record my progress on my native...

I love love love growth.design! It's fun, easy to read, and insightful. I've learned a lot from your case studies and they inspire me to learn more. I recommend it everywhere I go :)
Q1 - Yes I think it'd be cool to see a behind the scenes.
Q2 - I'm unsure. Maybe sorting by psychology theories or terms? Sometimes, I'll want to reference a theory from one of your case studies, but I'll forget...

I'm liking the Huberman Lab podcast. It's about the science of brain and how to apply learnings as tools to improve your quality of sleep, focus, overall life.
An all time favorite of mine is Radio Headspace podcast. All about little stories of mindfulness.
Podcast recommendation time!

Same with me! My product - https://thesidekick.app/ - stemmed from my own need. I was spending so much time distracted online: spending hours watching Youtube/Netflix, scrolling on social media, messaging, etc. and I was left wondering 1: where did all my time go? 2: what about my dreams?
So I built Sidekick to help me block distracting websites and intentionally block time for projects.
Is your product idea based on your own need or you've found it externally?

We dedicate specific days to fixing bugs - squashing small bugs saturdays and the occasional fixing fat bugs fridays 😂.

I use Apple podcasts! It's pretty simple and does the trick. Currently listening to Huberman lab - it's about the science behind brain and sleep. I like it! Would recommend!

the best lesson I learned was that you should fail early and often. Experimentation and user feedback is the best way to improve your product. The only way to get there is just to simply try and see what works.

I joined online communities with like minded individuals and participated as I normally would. Every now and then, someone would ask me about what I do or ask for something related to my business, and there was my chance!
From there, since you're actively engaging in the community like a human that wants to genuinely be there, it's likely that word of mouth will spread!

I use my own app (thesidekick.app) to stay focused. I use it to block distracting websites (sorry Netflix and Twitter) and time block pomodoro sessions.
Forgive me for the shameless plug, but it's actually true haha 😂.
What apps have you used to stay focused?

Sounds fun! I'm excited to try it out with my team :) I think they'll love it! Also, love the name and logo. Reminds me of recess in grade school and feels like the feelings just fit right in.

Pretty cool! I've looked at hundreds of portfolios/website when interviewing candidates and can definitely say I haven't seen a portfolio like yours.
Some notes:
- It didn't immediately click to me that I could change the colors or interact with the palette colors. Maybe make these look more like buttons? or have a copy on the button to say 'try clicking me' - idk something like that.

👋 I agree with @kukreja_nikita! I did not get it within the first 30 seconds. When I navigated to the features page, it made more sense to me.
I think the copy and the illustrations on your landing page are confusing b/c it paints a picture a little too vaguely. It provides/sells the benefits Rebank will give me without the how. I think this makes it confusing to understand what Rebank does....

As a PD myself, I see a lot of young or aspiring designers reach out looking for resources. They are so passionate and just want to learn as much as they can. Passing on this great resource from now on :) Thanks for creating this. I know it will help so many people.

I would try out a priority matrix exercise! This is where you evaluate your feedbacks in terms of impact to the user and effort to your team. We do this a lot at work when we need to prioritize ideas.
Here's a few resources!

Hope that helps!
I love the feedback loop. But, how do you avoid getting overwhelmed?

My advice would be to start small and build from there!
Validate the idea, then the designs, then an MVP, then features, etc. At every step, ask your friends and family for feedback. As you build your idea even more, you can open it up to a few people online and continue validating.
Good luck! I believe in the hustle :)
Is it worth hustling?🤔
