How many of you are happy with Product Hunt's algorithm?
For all the folks in the community who are active how many of you are happy with stance at PH on how the algorithm works - if there's a discretionary component to ranking which is based not on community interaction but on closed-door comments happening behind in the community then it feels pretty arbitrary.
I have seen this discussion come up where lots of folks releasing get pings to get...

Congrats on the relaunch and hope you have good success today.
A few suggestions
- the 7-day trial is great, but hard for me to decide to add in a credit card in a trial
- I get the 700 connect limit / week (this is impressive) - does it need a LinkedIn Premium or Sales Navigator?
- what is the core value prop? - how is it different than all the LinkedIn message automation products, does it...

Congrats on the PH launch @zenorocha . Did you guys pull in sequence modeling yet? Would love to see a platform for E2E sequence modeling and some pre-built different sequences for OOB use-cases - along with email design?
Something like an integrated email workflow builder on top would be super-useful?

If i were to index on one skill, I would say it has to be adaptability. In an early stage a lot of things are up in the air, from problem, to market, to product, to tech, to team.
An early employee needs to embrace this uncertainty alongside you and have the ability to work in this environment to pick up different roles as needed.
What qualities do you look for when hiring an early employee?

What is the objective of the launch?
- getting valuable feedback
- hitting a certain number of early adopters
Define your success metrics and work the plan out for a launch based on those.
Ensure you have instrumentation in place to understand how users are using and where they are dropping off.
Make it easy for users to share qualitative Feedback.

The first thing to do in any situation like this - hear the person out. what's causing the frustration? Is it the nature of the work, is it a situation at home, is it the colleagues who they are working with?
Wanting to understand the person on the other side goes a long way to resolving the issue. Bringin an outside-in perspective on the nature of the problem by framing it is the start of how...

Congrats on a milestone. But this is the kind of discussion I find has little value to the community.
No one is under an illusion here that points in PH are any different from karma on any other platform - Reddit, HN, stack overflow, etc...
I would love to see a bit more authenticity in conversations in PH else this is rapidly devolving into Quora like threads.

The Digital Data Protection Bill has been launched in india. How will it affect you?
The DDP bill has just got passed in the Indian parliament and brings in significant oversight into data processing modelled along the lines of GDPR.
For indie builders this could also mean significant risk of penalties especially if they don't comply.
How do you think you will be affected?

Fighting bot profiles. Lots of new profiles and little moderation.
PH is becoming a place like Quora with a lot of spammy clickbaity content and products. Genuine product launches versus small plugins and a community which also adopts and provides feedback vs gets upvotes.
What's one feature you'd absolutely love to see get added to Product Hunt?

How many of you who upvote a product actually use it?
There are so many products launched everyday and obviously as makers a lot of effort goes into building some of these. But how many of these do you really use before upvoting? Or do you upvote to show support because of the problem being solved?
I have been guilty of this myself. A lot of the times I upvote because I like the idea but don't really use the product in detail.
