File Extractor is a tool for extracting the contents of files. It is based on the same data recovery engine as Mac Data Recovery Guru uses - a data recovery tool so powerful that it has been purchased in bulk by the FBI & CIA for digital forensics analysis.

I find having this in my menu bar handy, because I naturally glance at it from time to time. If I'm on battery and not performing some intensive task and I see the number being over 1000, I know that something is wrong. I then look for offending apps to close.
Usually it's the web browser, and I've done something like loaded every gif on a reddit page then forgotten about it and have it...

It's nice to know who you're talking to, and that includes Twitter. When Donald Trump tweets his tweets are often emotionally charged, and those tend to be the tweets that are really by him. The more promotionally oriented tweets tend to by by his staff.
Considering his tweets are powerful enough to affect the stock market, or even start a war, it's good to know who's behind them.

To be 100% candid, I despise pathetic and immature things like this, and anyone who is associated with it, likes it, or posts positive comments about it. And the fact that this is #1 in tech just depresses me.

Nice. Compilers seem to be lagging behind the times more than AI was until recently. Been waiting to see some stuff like this.

Everything in this besides the touch bar is just a spec bump. And they didn't even bump the most important specs! The SSD capacity is the same (unless you want to pay an absurd price for the 2TB option), and the RAM is still at 16GB, the same as 5 years ago. And for that they decided to increase the base price, I wonder what justification there could be for that.

Looks pretty nice. How do you imagine the business model charging for this when people can get it for free with loads of other apps? I'm just wondering how a dev will make money providing this service (to pay you some money too). The toughest part of development these days is everything is becoming free. I'm speaking as a shareware developer.

This is gorgeous, and that 6k resolution screen should be amazing. It's such a shame that it has a 980m graphics card in it. It could fit a 1080 pascal instead which is on the 16nm process instead of 28nm and has a huge performance advantage for less power use. This really is like something Apple would put out.

Nice find. I feel like brand loyalty stops a lot of superior competitors from surfacing in many cases. And things such as this are one of the ways we can help combat that. The world would be better if it were more of a meritocracy like this.

With macOS Sierra recently released the media are very keen to help everybody do a clean install. It's better. It tends to make your mac run really fast for several months or more, and many people report that it fixes longstanding issues that they previously had.
Personally I do a clean install about twice a year, and every time I install a new major OS X version. I describe exactly how I do...

Hi everybody!
I made a free tool so you can clean install Sierra by making a bootable USB installer out of the Sierra installer.
Here it is: https://www.producthunt.com/tech/install-disk-creator
Here's a bit more information on it: http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2016/09/how-to-make-your-own-bootable-macos-10-12-sierra-usb-install-drive/
