I'd think about using the service you have created to prove that you can perform a task and then sell that task. I'm guessing that is what @caroline_chiari1 is referring to. It is a similar approach that home builders use for model homes.
What are the best ways to monetize a web based service that is free, other than ads?

Keep in mind that your friend circle might be giving you valuable feed back by not seeing the value. If they can't others might not either. Have to considered taking your widget and abstracting it to level that is easier to understand? Have to verified the concept in a blue sky approach and got good feedback from your circle against it?
What can you do if your local friends cannot see or find the solution of your platform or startup?

I'm finding that the best use of my time is to build out an aggressive SEO plan to funnel traffic into app stores. User feedback is very difficult to get. The best metric that I have found is to measure returning users vs time. It's also very helpful to see how long they stay on your app/site/widget. It's like spotting a stealth plane. You have to look for secondary disturbances.
What have you tried to get feedback from your users so far?
