In what I think we can all agree is spectacularly good timing I've just released a new app called WatchControl.
Use WatchControl to control your Mac's audio playback directly from your Apple Watch (Play/Pause, Mute/Unmute etc.).

The Apple Watch and Samsung Watch versions of the app are entirely standalone, once you've installed them. You can use Alexa on your watch anywhere, leave your phone behind.
