Very creative idea.
For those interested in real-world tipping behaviors: There's been a lot of research into tipping. E.g., http://tippingresearch.com/uploads/TipAveJASP.pdf Generally there's no statistically significant difference between the tips that men and women receive. But there is when you take attractiveness into account...

Oh, and mention a few of the key product aspects of Tappy:
* TappyCam is our gestural camera. It's always open for fast access. Swipe the Tappy Cam left for a selfie and up for Camera Roll. Press and hold the Tappy Cam to enlarge the photo area (by far the feature that gets the most attention)
* It's visual but it's a messaging app, not a social network. Social networks have great...

Thanks @espreedevora for posting about us!
Several of us from Tappy are on Product Hunt. I've worked on social software for about 15 years and this is the most fun I've had building something. I'll be around to answer questions; I think @briannorgard and @scotthurff who heads UI & design are both Product Hunters and will come by too.
While we just launched, we've been surprised by...

Is this what AirBnb uses? I made about a dozen attempts to use AirBnB's system and couldn't get it to work. I gave up. Cool idea though.

I got one off kickstarter. I just got back to town so have only had it for a few hours but it looks very nice and the first pictures have come out well.

I haven't had time to dig in yet, but as a developer, I'll say that it looks like a far more modern, productive language than ObjC. In my opinion, ObjC is an awful Frankenlanguage that tries to combine C and Smalltalk. Moreover, the apple libraries are a weird mix of pre-ARC CF objects, NS objects, etc.
Once developers get used to Swift, I suspect they'll be significantly faster and more...

This is great. +1 to the auto-delete from camera roll. Also, as someone with >1000 screenshots in my Camera Roll, I'd like a faster way to select groups of screenshots to move than tapping each one individually.

This looks excellent @zemvpferreira. Started years ago with a Polyscience immersion circulator, then when the Sous Vide Supreme was released switched to that (running two of them right now at different temps).
The newer sous vide equipment (Anova, Sansaire, Nomiku, etc) have brought the price point down but don't do anything new that would make me switch.

Alas, I bought one of their books and it was really cool.
However, my iPad broke and Apple swapped it for a new one. Since I restored the backup, it gives me permission denied when trying to open the book. I mailed their customer service address and never heard back.

I used HelloCar recently. It was--by far--the best rental car experience I've ever had.

When these guys first announced (a while back), I asked them if they'd include an API so we could build non-facebook versions. They said that they didn't have one yet, but hoped to eventually.
