Initially, we had a fairly simple strategy of just asking people in person to fill out a survey on Google Forms but later realized that there's a lot of wasted potential in doing that.
Since then, we've started using Qualaroo to embed surveys on my website and send them through SMS and emails.
We get a lot of good insights about customer satisfaction, churn rate, and reasons behind cart...

My team and I work on mobile app development and optimization projects, and we prefer collecting in-app feedback from our users for better insights.
During beta testing, we use a simple feedback form with open-ended questions to help us identify improvement areas and get a better understanding of issues that our users are facing.
When our applications are live, we use NPS benchmarking,...

We use the following metrics to measure customer success at our end, and so far, they have been very helpful in optimizing the process. These are:
Net promoter score (NPS)
Customer satisfaction score (CSAT)
Customer effort score (CES)
Customer retention rate (CRR)
Customer lifetime value (CLV)
If we talk about data collection, we have installed different tools to monitor these metrics...

There are a lot of different question types that you can consider such as single-choice, multiple-choice, Dichotomous questions, open-ended, ratings, Likert scale, and more.

I try not to follow a complicated customer feedback strategy and keep it relatively short and simple. I prefer doing this to minimize the time lag between customer complaints and redressal.
I follow 4 simple steps, and they are as follows:
Asking for feedback: First things first, the process starts by letting the customers know what I am trying to understand using their insights. Then I use...

I could only select one option but in general, we use surveys to design A/B testing hypotheses and for market research as well.

We deal with Saas-based ERP solutions, and we use automated on-page churn surveys when the customer cancels the subscription to collect more feedback. Our sales team picks it up to retarget the customer and retain them.
If the customer doesn't fill out the on-site survey, we send it via mail to get a response.
Churned surveys have helped us improve our retention rate. So, I agree that they...

Try adding a progress bar or completion time tab to show how much time it will take for the respondents to answer the survey.
You can display it as a Nudge instead of a pop-up. I think @qualaroo does that.
Add an option for respondents to capture and add screen recording or screenshot. It can help to visualize the reported bug or issue. Qualtrics is the tool that supports it.
If you are...

We use @qualaroo at our end because it can handle both feedback collection and analysis in one place. Survicate is another good option. I think they both offer free trials to test out the features.
Hope this helps.

Targeting the wrong people for validating your tests is just as bad as not validating them in the first place. I usually choose my participants based on set criteria and how appropriate they would be to validate the tests. Here are some of the pointers:
Conduct screening to only include the right demographics: Include a series of multiple-choice questions and shortlist users representing your...

There’s a tool called @qualaroo that helps with the market and user research. Here’s what I’ve been using it for:
You can create pop-up surveys or long-form surveys with open-ended questions.
Create surveys with multiple questions and answer types.
Different types of survey templates that you can use to explore your target audience and market.
Use its buyer persona templates to identify the...

Posting content regularly on social media platforms is a great strategy but make sure it’s high quality and relevant to your target audience.
Some other tips I can suggest are:
If you feel the CTA is not standing out or isn’t clear on the website, ask for an upgrade and A/B test its ideal placement.
Only ask for emails for your signup forms, newsletters, etc.
Create high-quality gated...

There’s honestly so many things that will get on your nerves when you try and collect feedback. It seems relatively simple from the outside, but it’s definitely not the case. Here’s some of the things that I find really annoying:
Finding the right people to get the feedback.
Getting people to actually give the feedback.
People always think feedback and surveys are just promotions, so they...

Other answers are very agreeable, but I would like to emphasize that one of the best ways to achieve product-market-fit is to conduct surveys with your targeted audience.
I read in an answer that you are conducting interviews, and that’s really going to help you out. With that, you can also try to add online surveys that you can publish on your prototype.
This way, you can have your...

More often than not, one of the biggest design hurdles is not knowing who you are designing the website for. The services and products you offer also define the targeted audience. So, start by understanding your user/buyer personas using different tools like surveys.
Once you do that and have a team of designers. Start implementing surveys in your prototypes and send them to some test users...

There is just so much that can go wrong with collecting feedback, and there are plenty of things that annoy you beyond comprehension.
As per my experience, the most annoying part of feedback collection is when customers say everything is fine just to get over with the feedback. A lot of users don't bother reading the questions and filling in the right answers, which defeats the purpose of...

I agree with all other recommendations like push notifications, gamification, and the onboarding process. But I feel personalization is really something that contributes hugely to the retention rate.
