I mean maybe if the mails had not been going to spam, the open rate would have been more like ~35% even without these improvements. Do not mean to undermine your efforts or the tips shared. Just...

As someone new here, I would love to see the answers to this. However, even with a poor conversion I believe publicity (if the product ranks well enough) and social proof (via the badge) are not too bad either. Also, 7% isn't bad? With base of 1000, that's 70 users at launch from one source.

As for the main goal, I assume most people on LInkedIn are there for networking / leads. Do you think there are other popular goals? Am I missing something? And oh, I would love to have the profile checklist.

Well, I quit my 9-5 long ago but here's what I would suggest. - A few hours every night / early morning. - As much time as you can dedicate over the weekends. That said, most people can't sustain this for very long. So plan you sprints well.
