Erick, we designed this to be as easy as possible. The maintenance consists of regularly scheduled water changes (1/2 gallon weekly, 1 gallon monthly) and a rinse of the sponge filter. It should only take about 10 minutes per week. There will be a video tutorial posted shortly with the details. We've had the first prototypes running for months under this maintenance schedule and it's worked...
