Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I find music helps me modulate my focus and energy tbh. i.e. for mundane work I love to put on deep house or techno to entertain my brain and keep on track while it would otherwise be bored and send me to the kitchen to make another cup of tea... just five minutes after the previous one.

It's an interesting idea to think about making lists shareable. Personally I use mymind, which is awesome because it doesn't require much organizing on my part, but one pain there is being able to share interesting stuff with my colleagues. I think combining the two approaches could be powerful.
