Over time, engineers get comfortable working on their own microservice but don’t have the context to make changes in microservices that other team’s own. Having iOS, Android, and web clients exasperates this.

I have been using a prerelease version of Lookout. The best part is being able to preview links in Line, WeChat, and other networks that I don't use every single day.

I'm a huge Castro 1 fan and daily user.
I just downloaded Castro 2. The import from Castro 1 was great. The UI looks great and listening UX is better too. I'm tethered and the UI seamlessly handles the double sized status bar correctly, which is not true for many top Apps.

I love this book. I read it when it first came out and it really helped brush off my functional thinking from my university days. I highly recommend it.

Based on the code samples on their In Use page, it looks like they've developed an RPC protocol similar to Apache Thrift.
This means that they probably compress and send data more efficiently than a traditional REST API. Evernote is the one service that I can think of that uses RPC over REST.
Their SDK must also embed a cache in the iOS or Android client.
