Afterwards all the research of market gap and finding opportunities comes. imho, its important to find what you really want to do, so you'd have some kind of connection and enjoyment.

I'd say, it depends. It depends on where you are in the company and how well is it going and where you are in the development. Because financials and customer acquisition can effect those dramatically, good or bad.
