Mobile is obviously where things are moving, but we wanted to start on web because we wanted to set the tone of the conversation as being one where people sit down and think about what they want to say. We can't compete with something like Vine, so we wanted to actively move in another direction.

Well @jasondainter first we couldn't figure out how to record on mobile without an app. But broader than that, we were always under the impression that building a tool that records using flash would be a huge headache that would take ages. So instead our developers spent a few months building their own plugin. Lesson not to outsource development! :)

Great concept. Would have saved us a lot of time and money if they'd been around when we were building!
