At Phlywheel we worked really hard to get a strong, loyal beta group that would really dig into our platform and services. We listened to their comments, concerns and tried our best to be as responsive as possible. As a result, most of them continued on to be valued members of the community. We were able to break the 100 mark through their referrals and testimonials. Hope this helps!
How did you get your first 100 users?

Always! I love Marc Maron's WTF podcast and wish I could talk to him about classic rock and the older LA comedy scene.
Have you ever wanted to interact with your favorite podcaster while listening to his show ?

I'm the opposite of @Shovon - if it's a short read, I like having the main points summarized. If it's a longer read, then I rather take the time to actually read it.
What kind of newsletter is more valuable & worth reading to you?
