Have you considered a recumbent bicycle version? I have a bad back and this would be great is a recumbent configuration.

Do they races against friends have to be live? Could I record a time one day, and challenge friends to try and beat my time over the next few days? If I was accepting a challenge like that, to beat a friends previous time, will I see their icon on the map as I ride? That kind of asynchronous challenge would be great, since syncing up schedules is complicated. It would also remove time zone...
