I'm quite interested in how it works. My guess would be that it's a global list of hard bounces/undeliverables that it checks against. I've never seen an ESP that doesn't have rules in place for this sort of thing, but putting that aside one problem with this approach is that bounces are kinda muddy. A hard bounce isn't necessarily a bad email, it often comes down to the sender.

You have to be very careful with this outside the US. If it looks like the purpose of the email is promotional rather than transactional then it will require marketing permission in many countries

Seems like a lot of double standards on the science side. Firstly to say that theres a lack of evidence for GMO safety (which is false), but then to include lots of saturated fat (which has a similar lack of evidence for safety).
