I always offer to rely on every possible way to generate feedback: interviews, questionnaires, reviews, analytical reports, and anything else posible.

The good length of the content depends on the value of the content. If your topic is to be presented in detail then you should provide long content. But if it's a watery content, there is no need to go for the length. This is what I came to during my experience.

I have another approach to this point. Going out of your comfort zone sounds somehow scary. I never go out of my comfort zone but I do use any chance to extend it. So, I believe if you have that scary feeling, it means your comfort zone extends.
