We can build rituals around New Years that are effective. The problem is that, like any goal, sometimes making it is enough and we never end up doing it. Nobody achieves everything they set out to achieve. That just makes them people.

Well, technically if you're overwhelmed then something isn't fulfilling. You're managing a bunch of obligations, rather than doing things that are good for you and give you a sense of purpose. Take care of yourself first. Take regular stock of your priorities and what's working for you. And as a busy person, pareto principal is always a good idea for every aspect of life. Focus on being effective.

Burnout/depression/anxiety

There's no work/life balance. There is life. Work is part of it. How big a part is individual. Being holistically effective is important. The idea that things with change once we've achieved Big Goal X can be a mental trap. No one area of our lives can make us happy on it's own. For entrepreneurs I think that support groups (and real friends) are really valuable. It helps maintain perspective.

Currently working on well-being programs grounded in evolutionary psychology and biochemistry. It's exciting because we can deliver substantial change in a really short period of time. Also we're focused on really high quality content, which is fun. I also have a solo design company @ humanizer.co and am working with a few startups.

I think a lot of things can benefit from being built with a social network. Niche social networks should be bigger IMO. The big names are too big and broad, and the little ones are too little. Something that connects people in film/TV/advertising, for example, or people in construction, or people with burnout/depression/anxiety.
