I want to start a newsletter. Please suggest tools that might help me do it better.

For starters, I should have a simple page where people can subscribe to the newsletter, and then send weekly emails - not to look like a promotional/magazine newsletter but more simple, plain text and a couple of photos gifs may be. And then some basic analytics that tells me opens, reads etc.,

Depending on your resources, the industry standards are MailChimp and Hubspot. Hubspot has all the bells and whistles. MailChimp will probably be the best starting newsletter. Also I believe its fairly easy to integrate mailchimp with a wordpress site if that's what you are using.
