I read this nice article with the ideas of 12 experts around the future of AI. The one that I find interesting (something we all know or suspect somehow) is that the modularity and commoditization of AI " cause attractive profits to disappear at one stage in the value chain, the opportunity to earn attractive profits with proprietary products will usually emerge at an adjacent stage.” Below and above :- Do you agree that this fierce competition at the app layer will create value that can be captured at the infrastructure layer (below) and interface layer (above)? https://www.apifirst.tech/p/ai-and-apis-what-experts-think-the-future-holds

@nikolas_dimitroulakis Hi Nikolas, that’s a fascinating insight. I agree that as AI components become more modular and commoditized, the competition at the application layer will indeed drive value creation to other parts of the value chain. Infrastructure Layer (Below): The need for scalable, efficient, and reliable infrastructure will grow as more AI applications are developed. Companies that provide the underlying technology, such as cloud services and data management platforms, will be in a prime position to capture this value. The ongoing advancements in hardware, optimized data centers, and network technologies will be critical in supporting the growing AI ecosystem. Interface Layer (Above): User experience is becoming increasingly important. As AI tools become more integrated into everyday applications, the differentiator will often be how seamlessly and intuitively users can interact with these tools. Companies that focus on creating exceptional user interfaces and experiences will likely find significant opportunities here. The ability to simplify complex AI functionalities and make them accessible to non-experts can be a major competitive advantage. At StockLibrary.ai, we see this dynamic at play. While we leverage existing AI models for generating stock photos, our focus is on providing a user-friendly platform that makes it easy for our clients to get the images they need without deep technical knowledge. This interface layer is where we believe a lot of value can be added. Do you see other areas where this shift in value might occur as AI continues to evolve?"

Absolutely! It's like a high-stakes game of AI Jenga where moving one block affects the entire tower of profit opportunities. Who knew tech could be so strategic and fun?
