Hey! 👋
I’ve been reading about #buildinpublic movement these days and I liked so much the transparency approach it has. So I’ve decided to start my own journey 💪
I enjoy coding on my free time so now I’ll do the same but sharing what I am creating
I’ve been thinking 🤔 about what may be the first steps and decided to start creating my own blog and adding all the stuff I build to it (while publishing on social media)
What can you recommend also as first steps? Maybe not to focus only on building stuff and sharing some insights observed for example?
P.S.: I will be happy to connect with you on PH and Twitter 🐦: https://twitter.com/AMascort17

Hi Alejandro.
As someone who does this, I can say that there is a definite reward to building in public. We're frequently complimented on the level of openness and transparency and share the following as much as possible:
- Monthly Investor Updates https://docs.thisapp.com/home/in...
- Designs for upcoming features https://docs.thisapp.com/home/pr...
- Live marketing data when there is an active campaign
It can be a lot of work, but as a starting point I would think about what is important to share (in your opinion). Engineering updates, designs, financials, growth etc.
Once you figure that out I'd be happy to help you come up with a format for presenting that on a regular basis.

Hi @oscar_wehbe 👋
Nice tips! I will take your advices into account!
As you say, still don’t have decided in which things I will focus, I think I’ll start with a blog where to publish my projects, opinions and experiences. Step by step.
Thank you!!
Share only what is relevant. Be strategic about what you share. Check Austin Kleon's advice column/books/blog on building in public. He's the perfect example of what, how, when, and most importantly how much to share.
Hey 👋 @arunachawla
I didn't know about Austin Kleon, happy you've discovered him to me.
I'm thinking about reading his books 📕
Have you read all of them? Do you recommend start them in order?
@alejandro_mascort_colomer @alejandro_mascort_colomer I have! He's one of my favourite writers + business experts. I've read them in order. Each is a quick ~45 minute read actually. So worth it!
Start smallll. If this is something you'll be doing consistently, then you don't want to burn out the first week by going crazy trying to share new things.
A tweet a day, or a LinkedIn post a day is enough to just start building the habit of putting stuff out there.
Blogs are a little bit more difficult because you can spend a lot of time on them for not a single soul to see them.
It's still super beneficial to write long form content because you really do become smarter on a subject when you have to write extensively about it. And that long form content is a great place to pick new tweets or posts from.
I'd err on the side of sharing more bite sized content than long form.
*Edit: And I'm down to hop on a call with you to help on whatever you need. Not trying to sell anything at all. Just shoot me a message and let's talk (:
Hey @isaiah_trotter !
Thank you mate! Very good suggestions! 💪
That's what I am trying to do, being constant and also enyoing (most important)
Let me know if I can help you too!
