Although I don't know when AGI will happen. It's tricky. Some say soon, some say not soon. We're trying hard, but it's complex. Gotta keep learning and improving.

Building a true AGI requires significant improvements in architecture and training methods. I believe it is wishful thinking to think AGI is on the verge and it might be released within a year. While we may see AI systems mimicking AGI behavior, (LLMs or may be even configuration based software utilizing LLMs), achieving genuine AGI will likely take years, if not decades.

I think AGI is many years away, maybe decades. I'm very skeptical if it's achievable with LLMs.

Seeing how the AI industry boomed with the launch of ChatGPT in late 2022 (less than 2 years ago), I feel we'll see major changes in the industry in the upcoming decade. Regarding AGI, I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon. The relevant technology is still in its infancy stage and requires a ton of supervised learning on bulky machines.
