Big fan of doing it for Taskade AI but we have had our fair share of complaints too!

@johnxie What's your plan for it then??

I use it on 2 of my sites and I think it helps a lot. gomailmerge . com autopagerank . com

@kingromstar I checked out both the side but none of them were auto played so that's fine by me just the ones that randomly start playing are the ones I find annoying! πŸ˜πŸ˜…

I've always found the concept of autoplay videos on websites to be a bit of a mixed bag. While they can sometimes be informative, I prefer having the choice to play a video when I'm ready, rather than it playing automatically. It's definitely a grey area, and I lean more towards the "not a fan" side. πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ

@dan_burns 100% true. I'm sure that people put in a lot of efforts in the videos and they do coney information in an easier manner. But I should see that information only when I ask for it otherwise it's like giving unwanted noise.

Until it’s on Mute, I like it πŸ”‡

@arzmn I suggest using silent GIFs or like short animations. I think they look great and are way better! πŸ˜„

Oh no... How to get a heart attack in a second πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’« Only mute ones.

No, I don't like it, I'd like to play it myself if I like to.

@romany_awad Yes. I mean nudging the user to play the content is fine, but just starting your piece without permission is not fun at all! πŸ™„πŸ™Œ

Not a big fan. Especially when the sound is on and my speakers are on pretty high volume.

Gee, absolutely hate it. Especially if they are so annoyingly invasive that when your scroll down, picture-in-picture pops up

@naou UFFF! That's another level of misery.πŸ˜Άβ€πŸŒ«οΈ It makes browsing so damn annoying! 😐

In our projects, we make autoplay videos both on websites and in mobile clients. This allows you to retain customers. The most important thing is not to overdo it, so as not to dazzle your eyes.

I too find the concept of autoplay videos somewhat irksome, particularly when they come with unexpected sound-blast! πŸ˜… However, consider it from a user-engagement standpoint, it could prove beneficial. Some might find it intriguing and stay longer on the site. Yet, I agree there needs to be a balance or some control in the user's hand. Like a mute option by default perhaps? πŸ€”πŸ”‡

@builov84 Yep, I agree that they are effective from the marketers POV. But at the same time having the control on when and how the user wants to access the information also matters. My suggestions will be Default mute, interactive GIFs, or even CTA buttons letting the user know that they can also play the video for more info.
If without sound, I can accept. However, I always like to be in control of what happens on the browser (both audio/video) so I'm not a huge fan of autoplay.
No way! Trying to find that one tab with the autoplaying video buried among thousands is like defragging a hard drive with fragmented files.
