Being a founder, you don't. There are no days off.

Even though I have tried not to work on a holiday. I have never been successful in doing so 🙁

I understand you, it's difficult. My family and I just left home and skied for three days. I simply didn’t have the energy to go to work. But now I continue with renewed vigour.
You dont hahaha! I think its just you set boundaries and stick to it.
@imraju Fair! I worked yesterday... (and announced my teaser page) so I didnt take off. BTW- do you mind supporting my teaser? producthunt.com/products/my-event-hero

If it's a holiday there is no need to avoid it, you just don't it. That's reason enough!

I actually don't think I look for "days off" throughout the year. My default setting is to keep working, until I need a day off, or until there's an opportunity to make memories with my friends or family. The founder journey should be about forging your own path and feeling forced to take time off during the holiday season just because everyone else is.

It's hard. But do set aside time with families, because they are your lifetime supporters.

For me, it is the realisation that I should never take family gatherings for granted. All of us meeting is a wonderful time and I want to enjoy every single second of it. But of course, some work can't wait, so I try to do it in the mornings or evenings. And the same I do on regular vacations during the year :)
