Can i use a picture of my cat as a logo?

My cat is my logo. Is it okay for me to use that image for my application or do I have to create a new one? Are there any rules I have to follow?

I think it comes to brand identity. How do you want people to feel about your product? Does your cat pic add continuity to your product offering and identity?

Burt's bees uses an outline of Burt's face as part of their brand and they're very successful.
