In the end what people needs most is stable cloud server hosting, in that aspect AWS is much better than Azure atm. OpenAI integration is good for marketing but not enough to be a game changer.

AWS is a totally different service than OpenAI as a Service, so they will be just fine. I am curious what you think the threat from OpenAI is to AWS specifically...

@joseph_natoli Azure is from microsoft which has connections with OpenAI. Really the only realistic threat is to AWS sagemaker, which still operates a different market from OpenAI

@joseph_natoli I agree, they are solving different problems and should not be categorized as the same thing.

@kyle_tummonds Perhaps @richard_gao2 was implying that the threat from Azure is that they will integrate OpenAI's technology into their DevOps platforms and create a better experience for Developers to host, create , and manager their apps and sites? If this is what was meant... then sure, it is a threat I suppose. Any incremental advantage is helpful for a new value prop. I am not sure what exactly AI DevOps looks like or what the benefit is from migrate from one platform to another, but in this context I made up, I can see some sort of connection for competition.

Absolutely. AWS is so embedded into SOOO many SaaS products. It would take a year to switch for me, personally.

While there's a lot of hype over OpenAI and it's products, this is far from hurting AWS. Productivity use-cases for tools like ChatGPT are plagued with problems and the majority of the market is non-technical, which is where productivity improvements matter. We often think a new technology will wipe out a competitor. That rarely happens. When it does, it takes a long time.

Surprised AWS has not made any moves to release their own AI yet But the answer is a resounding yes. AWS will be used by other companies to host their AI models. It's actually what we're doing with evoke-app.com

Microsoft is way way way behind Amazon on DevOps AWS launches multiple products a month. Microsoft is about 15 years behind AWS on tech and ease of use.

The competition between AWS and Azure in the cloud computing industry is influenced by various factors, including technology offerings and customer satisfaction. secret weapon OpenAI, as a service, is not exclusive to any single cloud provider and may partner with both.
