Last week I got so fed up with email, I tried something crazy - ditched it completely for a week.
Here's what happened:
My productivity shot up (like seriously, 34% up)
The constant anxiety? Gone
But damn... lost 2 clients because they couldn't reach me 🤦♂️
Got me thinking... what's the deal with email in 2024\25? At this point, it's basically just:
A login button for every freaking website
A dump for newsletters I swear I'll read "later"
The only way to talk to my boss who thinks WhatsApp is for teenagers
Real talk:
How much of your day is actually wasted on this ancient tech?
Why does every "email killer" app end up dead instead?
Let's be honest - if it wasn't for logging into stuff, would you still use email?
Here's a wild thought: If email disappeared tomorrow, what would you actually miss?

I could say why the hell mobile notifications still exist in every app if we all just turn them off. Or do we? Or some of them stay on? Which ones? Maybe the one that mean something? Prioritization will save your day and no Im not against emails at all

Haha emails definitely feel like ancient tech at this point! 📧🦕 But for real, I think we're still stuck with them because there's no clear replacement that checks all the boxes yet - decentralized, universal, secure, etc. Although there are some interesting new takes on it like Hey and Superhuman trying to revamp the email experience. I'm definitely ready for something new to take over though! 🙏
