I am launching my first product om 20th January. I am a confident man but still fear in my mind. What happen if user will not like it or How I will handle failure? I am a UX designer and I love to create illustrations. During covid break I created hundreds of illustrations and I decided to share it with community. I put mostly under Free category so people can use and I added few packs so people can buy it too. Please share your valuable suggestions and how you handled your first Launch so it will help me to be a mentally strong.

What I fear most after launching, or at least announcing my project to the world, is no feedback. I'd rather have negative feedback than no feedback at all. What helps me to conquer the fear is to treat the project and the launch as experiment. I'll experiment by doing all the things I can think of to move the project forward. I just imagine, if one of the things I do in the experiment works, I'll have a good article or blog post to write and share. Likewise, when nothing works and nobody cares about the project, not even to say bad things about it, I'll still have a great blog post to write and share 😅

first of all define the failure. not being featured doesn't mean you don't have a bad product, you should understand why it got that way. I believe you should embrace the failure as much as you celebrate success. If you fail on your own terms, take comments as a free advice to make your product/solution great. you are not the product you make..

Every comment is a valuable opp to improve your product. Don't make it personal.
    Abderisak
@daniel_leal Not taking it personal is very important. It's too easy to view it as a personal attack.

Happy launch day! We just went through this a week and a half ago. Remember, the launch is not the end, and you can always learn from it and launch again

The PH community is very supportive. You'd get honest feedback, constructive criticism, and lots of "congrats on the launch" comments. So there's nothing to worry about.

Thank you @rajat_dangi1 , Yes People are very supportive and helpful. Their comments will help me to build better product too.

We are launching on 19 January. I can't say that we are afraid of failure. But the question is- what is a failure for you. Few upvotes, not good comments, or something else. In any case, don't give up and continue to develop your product. Good luck :)
    Piyush Rajpurohit
@shushanik_shahbazyan You perfectly described my fear. You are right that I should focus on product. Thank you for your wish and I wish you all the best for your Launch.

Hello Piyush! First of all best wishes for your launch! I am sure it will be successful! There are infinite things in the world that can give you negativity! Try to focus on the good things. Even in the negative comments, you can end up finding some constructive feedback. ProductHunt is a good platform to get initial eyeballs, if you make it big on PH it's good, if the launch here does not go well, that's not the end of the world! As long as you believe in your product nothing can stop you and your product from hitting all the milestones that you have planned :) Good luck!
    Piyush Rajpurohit
Hi @kapilgadhire, Thank you for your kind words. You motivated me. I will inform you once I launch my product and get honest feedback too.

If you think your product is best, then no negative thought can break you or make you feel sad. If users will not like your product then take their negative feedback as an opportunity and work on it. Every negative thing that comes into your life makes you realize you can do better! Good luck for your product launch

@akriti_vyas Thank you so much Akriti for best wishes. Yes my product is good but I am just worried as many similar products are available 😃. Let me release it tomorrow and I will share it with you.

It will be tough, nothing worth doing is easy. But you should preserve and keep going forward.

Hi @piyush_rajpurohit, we recently launched our product and it was the first time for us: we were new to Product Hunt, let alone to launching on PH. It was honestly a great experience: our product wasn't perfect, our launch was quite spontaneous (read: we didn't prepare for months ahead of it - some people have suggested us to do it - and we didn't have followers on PH). We did not have incredible success, get to Product of the Day or even close to it, but I honestly would do it again. It gave us a lot of insight into what works well on our product and what doesn't, into questions people may have around what we are building, and into how the PH community actually works. It was a very good learning experience, and I think that's an incredible gift.
    Piyush Rajpurohit
@jenny_romano Awesome. Thank you so much for sharing your journey and I am sure that it will help me to move forward. Again thank you so much for motivating me and I really appreciate it.

Negative thoughts are natural but always look at the positive side. Bruce Lee said, "Don't fear failure — not failure, but low aim is the crime. In great attempts, it is glorious even to fail."
    Piyush Rajpurohit
@elena_cirera Its hard to control thoughts but yes we should aim high and not to worry about anything.
    Piyush Rajpurohit
@elena_cirera Thank you for your support and mine product is live today : https://www.producthunt.com/post...

Everything we worry about mostly never happens so when we come to this awareness I feel we can turn the "negative" into positive by saying ok cool this though is not real so the opposite will happen which is the positive and you start focusing on that instead :)
