π My recent product launch on Friday:
- Ended 16th for the day with 75 upvotes.
- 54 installs for my Chrome extension. (https://www.producthunt.com/posts/webpage-sherlock-2)
- 240 page views.
Key takeaways:
β
Great starting point for learning.
π’ PH is slow and a bit messy. My product didn't show up in the search. A friend's product did not show up on on featured list. So we had to reach out to chat and they had to help.
π Have multiple marketing distribution lines. Questions on PH discussion take a few hours to be approved.
ποΈ Prepare at least a week before. Be active here in PH discussions.
π€ Leverage PH, Twitter, WhatsApp, Reddit communities. Donβt just drop a launch post. Be active in advance.
π’ Rally at least 100 supporters beforehand. It gets you to the top ten list on the homepage which gets you extra visibility!

Hey Thaha, these are great top tips. Thanks for sharing, I will definitely take note ahead of our lunch on 15th November. I didn't know the last tip about getting over 100 supporters means you make the top ten list! Will definitely be aiming for that ahead of our launch.

@ashleigh_mccabe Having 100 supporters is just the beginning, not the ticket to the top ten. When we launch, the first four hours are all about mystery and anticipation β no counts are revealed. After this initial period, the products with the most votes take the lead in that order.

Hey @thaha, congrats on your recent product launch! π Your analysis and conclusions provide valuable insights for others looking to launch their products on PH. I particularly agree with your point about having multiple marketing distributions.π It's crucial not just to rely on PH, but to leverage all available platforms for maximum reach. You're spot-on about rallying supporters beforehand to gain initial traction. What has been your most effective method for doing this? Keep up the great work!
