How do you decide when it's time to switch to a new tool/set of tools?

For me, everything is about the workflow experience and speed.
If the new tools allow me to work smoother and get my work done faster without the need of watching endless videos and reading countless pages of documentation, then I switch in a blink of an eye.

If the new tool is faster, has better features & not too complicated to learn, I would give it a try and probably switch. Plus, if my current tool is outdated & the new tool is what most people use, then I'd switch as it would make it easier to collaborate with other users if needed.
