We have all Heard the Term “FLOW” state, some refers to it as a transcending experience some call it focus, what do you call it?
No matter what name we chose, the fact is that that state makes us way more productive, we all wish to have a bit more control over this.
So let’s share some tips:
Curious to know, what's your go to routine for getting into flow state?

Start with an excitingly difficult task.

@tiepvuvan I do the opposite, I start with easy and quick tasks, and gradually move to more complex activities :)
Entering flow mode for me involves creating a distraction-free environment and setting clear, achievable goals for the session. It's all about minimizing interruptions and focusing deeply on the task at hand.
There is a film called "Ahsoka: Sabine's Loth-Cat" that is a good example of a grow-flow film. And there is a question: Why 12+?
@juan_manuel_dato Interesting TV show, never heard of it before the cat looks quite funny. BTW what do you mean by 12+?
@demetre_mildiani1 Disney does not recommend children of 11 years old to see that ambient... Why?
I do a few things:
- I pick a small task, getting started is often the hardest part.
- If I don’t have any small tasks, I take a big task and break it down into small incremental steps as my getting started phase.
- I put on music that’s not distracting.
- My phone always has all but only the most important alerts turned off.
- A really effective tactic I use sometimes is a pomodoro timer. It’s 30 mins of me refusing to respond to anything and only work on that task, when the alarm goes off I have permission to stop.
@matthewrhoden1 I do exactly like you, with the only differences that I need silence and that I don't use any timer that would break the flow
@matthewrhoden1 Love the way you explain it, can you say more about how getting started phase works, it's the most difficult for me usually :)
For me, the most consistent flow mode comes in the morning when I have the most energy,
Music really helps as well,
Finally, Setting time so I don’t worry about anything else but the task.
I like to start with the smaller simpler tasks on my list just to get my brain releasing dopamine. Then this makes the larger tasks easier to get into and when I find myself getting bogged down I do little dance party celebrations for each of the little tasks I accomplish. Feels a little silly sometimes but it really works!
