My business partner @dalebeaumont started as my business coach. I was part of his business education program, and started servicing a lot of his members with their website needs. From there we started a referral agreement, and then realized it made more sense for our relationship for me to sell him part of the company and work more closely together. The most important part is making sure your business partner shares the same personal values that you do. If they are not aligned, it doesn't matter what skills, connections or resources they bring to your business. You will wish you never had them involved if their values are out of alignment with yours. Since then, Dale and I have done several ventures together. It's been great.

Networking - you can try LunchClub its a cool platform to connect with like minded people. As for equity, you can start with a cliff period and then vested equity over a period of a couple years.

talk to everyone. You never know who is going to be someone now or in the future and who someone knows. I met a lot of my advisors and cofounders thru friends, and sent messages in my entire organization and social accounts to find people! I build a team of 38 people through angelst bc they resonated with the idea, and they all are working on stock options. It's a full blown mini company, with volunteer work for a greater good
