  • How I Built a Social Network App by Myself

I’m a developer in my day job, and I love to build things from scratch. Initially, I thought the first step would be moving into a product management role and then starting a startup. However, finding a job as a product manager didn’t work out, so I began building things on my own and pivoted a few times. For the past year and a half, I’ve been working on a social blogging app that now has over 100 users. Such apps rely on social virality to grow, and I was wondering if anyone here has some tips. The app lets you create private blogging groups or post publicly, and it features three main post categories: cooking, travel, and blogging. Currently, I’m learning with a small group of users about the use case of group blogging (circles). If anyone has any suggestions, I’d love to hear them!

Congrats on building this solo! Maybe introduce a reward system for users who invite friends referrals can really help with growth.

That's impressive! Have you thoughts about adding a feature for sharing posts outside the app? Could help with virality.
