Is AI some kind of new religion/sect?

Hello everybody,
I had the opportunity a few weeks ago to go with a friend to an event organized around AI with experts in the field.
And at one point, one participant asked: "How he could get his colleagues at his company to finally believe in the potential of AI." We had the funny feeling of being at a meeting of a sect. We even enjoyed classifying the participants between "believers" and "non-believers" according to their speech.
Don't you have that impression too? I think we find this quasi-religious obsession with Web3, Crypto, etc. How would you explain that?
I am looking forward to your opinions on this.
Taha

I would say that this is not a religion, but rather a new technology.

Interesting perspective, Taha! The comparison to a "sect" highlights the passion and polarization AI often inspires. This is partly because, like any transformative technology, AI disrupts norms, creating "believers" who see endless potential and "non-believers" who are skeptical of its risks or hype.
To bridge this gap in a workplace or community, the key is fostering understanding. Share real-world use cases where AI has demonstrably added value—this can shift perceptions from abstract concepts to practical benefits. A website https://xn--mgbaaae5aqj1b2joa.com/ that showcases successful AI implementations or explains its potential in simple terms could be a game-changer for skeptics. It’s less about "belief" and more about informed adoption.
